Let's Work Together

The CMU Bookstore is owned and operated by Central Michigan University. Every penny spent in our store stays here on campus to help fund campus programs and course material scholarships. We support the academic mission of the University by having course materials available at the most reasonable prices possible.

The CMU Bookstore is committed to supporting Central Michigan University faculty and staff with their course material needs. By offering new, used, rental, and digital options, we hope to provide many ways to assist in student success.

Through our website, students are able to use our textbook price comparison tool. This program allows students to compare our prices with those of our Internet competitors like Amazon, Half.com, etc.

With your support, we can help our students save money on course materials. We hope this information will aid you in completing your textbook order requests. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Getting Started

Faculty that submit their orders directly to the CMU Bookstore will receive a personalized link to the Verba Collect website several weeks prior to each semester’s deadline to submit orders for their courses. Faculty can access Verba Collect at anytime. Logins can be created using your cmich email address. A new password will need to be created.
(For Departments that turn book orders in to Department staff, please continue to do so. Administrative Staff will use the Verba Collect website to enter your requests for you.)

When you are on the website, please provide the Student Edition ISBN, Author, and Title for each book you are requesting.

Please include information on course packs if you will be using one. If copyright permission is required, please contact us as soon as possible. Please list if it has changed in any way since the last time it was used, and turn your original in to Printing Services as soon as it is ready.

If a publisher package or custom textbook is requested, please provide the Student Edition ISBN from your publisher’s representative on your order.

Benefits of Timely Submissions

Correct Course Materials

Timely orders allow the CMU Bookstore the opportunity to ensure that all items from your order are available to the students.

More Used Textbooks

Timely orders can result in lower priced textbooks for the students because they allow us to source more used copies of the books.

Best Prices at Buybacks

Timely orders allow the students to receive more money at textbook buy back when the CMU Bookstore knows which books are being used for the following semester.

Availability

Timely orders let the CMU Bookstore place orders early to have the textbooks stocked on our shelves for students before classes start.

Frequently Asked Questions

E-mail the Textbook Manager and let her know of any and all changes. This can be done in Verba Collect under the "Ask a Question" tab, or directly through your e-mail. This will ensure the correct people have access to the correct courses.
It is important that you mark the course as no text required in Verba Collect so that we can communicate that to students. You can do so by submitting the course request with no textbooks attached to the course.
Sure! Please notify the Textbook Manager that a change needs to be made by requesting it in Verba Collect or by sending an e-mail. She will allow the course information to be edited by department staff or faculty
This deadline allows the Textbook Manager ample time to source used textbooks. It also provides an opportunity for our store to buy books back from the students at the end of the term that are going to be used the following semester.
